• Luke's page from the summer 2014 ugrad "Intro to python" session

• Here is a file containing the HI spectrum of AGC 2310633 which I retrieved from the ALFALFA public spectral archive via this link. Write a python routine to read this file as it is. When you get that far, then I'll tell you what to do next.

• Luke has set up a directory /home/dorado3/galaxy/eggpy. It is not documented.... So, your first task is to ask him what is in there and to make up an HTML file which documents what is there and what the routines do. A big part of (the helpful part) of your work will be to document what code does (we are not always so good about that...

• Remind yourself what the "AGC" is and what it contains (e.g. what data). We learned about it at the workshop. Before I gave you files I extracted from it. Now, I'll let you do the extraction yourself. You might want to ask Luke if he has python code to read the AGC (and which version of the AGC he reads, i.e. the "csv" version?).

• Read about finding how we can calculate stellar masses from SDSS photometry. I think you did this before but we should discuss with Luke what the best approach is.
